Crunchbase Scraper
crunchbase.com
Crunchbase is served through a dedicated plugin endpoint rather than the generic page fetch. Give it an organization - its slug, the part after /organization/ in the profile URL such as stripe, or the full profile URL - and it reads the data the profile page loads and returns the organization already parsed: name, legal name, short and full description, logo, website, headquarters, operating, company and IPO status with stock symbol and exchange, employee range, industries and industry groups, the CB rank with its 90-day trend, the growth and heat scores, founders, the last funding type, counts of funding rounds, investors, acquisitions, investments and employee profiles, the funding rounds with their lead investors, investors, acquisitions, investments, exits, sub-organizations, key people with their titles, board members, similar companies, products, contact email, phone, social links, monthly web visits, technology counts, Crunchbase's predictions, key events such as product launches, partnerships, layoffs and executive changes with their press sources, offices and recent news. Only have a name? Pass query instead and get up to 25 matching organizations with their slugs. Know what it can reach: it reads what a signed-out visitor sees, so values Crunchbase shows only to paying users (founding, closing and IPO dates, funding totals, round dates and amounts, acquisition prices, exits, valuation) come back null, paywalledFields names the ones Crunchbase holds for the organization, and lists such as funding rounds or key people hold what the public profile shows, not a full export. No Crunchbase account or API key is involved.

Dedicated endpoints
/companies/crunchbase Crunchbase organization profile or name search
One Crunchbase organization by slug (such as stripe) or profile URL: name, slug, uuid, url, legalName, shortDescription, description, logo, website, headquarters, operatingStatus, companyType, ipoStatus, stockSymbol, stockExchange, employeeRange, industries, industryGroups, rank with rankDelta90d, growthScore, heatScore, founders, lastFundingType, the num* counts, acquiredBy, owner, fundingRounds, investors, acquisitions, investments, exits, subOrganizations, keyPeople, boardMembers, similarCompanies, products, contactEmail, phone, socialLinks, webTraffic, technology, predictions, events, offices and news. Values Crunchbase shows only to paying users are null and named in paywalledFields. How to scrape it
curl -X POST \
-H "X-ScrapeUnblocker-Key: $SU_API_KEY" \
"https://api.scrapeunblocker.com/companies/crunchbase?organization=stripe"import requests
resp = requests.post(
"https://api.scrapeunblocker.com/companies/crunchbase",
headers={"X-ScrapeUnblocker-Key": SU_API_KEY},
params={"organization": "stripe"},
)
print(resp.text)import { ScrapeUnblockerClient } from 'scrapeunblocker';
const su = new ScrapeUnblockerClient({ apiKey: process.env.SU_API_KEY });
const org = await su.crunchbaseCompany('stripe');
const matches = await su.crunchbaseCompany({ query: 'Revolut', maxResults: 5 });
console.log(org);
console.log(matches); Requests are POST and take their parameters in the query string. Browser rendering always happens - there is no flag to enable.

} Frequently asked questions
Is it legal to scrape Crunchbase?
Collecting the company data Crunchbase shows publicly, such as descriptions, industries, funding rounds and investors, is lawful in many jurisdictions, but the rules depend on your country, the data you collect and how you use it. Founder and executive names are personal data, so follow the privacy rules that apply to you. ScrapeUnblocker returns the public profile; what you collect and how you use it is your responsibility.
How do I scrape Crunchbase without getting blocked?
Crunchbase uses bot detection and rate limiting. The /companies/crunchbase plugin reads the data the profile page loads, through ScrapeUnblocker's browser-free legs a few times on fresh exits, and only when those come back empty does it open the profile page in a real browser. In ScrapeUnblocker's benchmark it returned the organization on 96.3% of 1,100 calls with a different organization each time, about 7.1s per call; the misses were calls Crunchbase still blocked after every retry.
What Crunchbase data can I get?
Identity and description, website, headquarters, operating, company and IPO status, stock symbol, employee range, industries, the CB rank with its 90-day trend, growth and heat scores, founders, the last funding type, counts of funding rounds, investors, acquisitions, investments and employee profiles, the funding rounds with their lead investors, investors, acquisitions, investments, exits, sub-organizations, key people with titles and start dates, board members, similar companies, products, contact email, phone, social links, monthly web visits and their change, technology counts, Crunchbase's predictions, key events (product launches, partnerships, awards, layoffs, executive changes, legal proceedings) with their press sources, offices and recent news. Every key is always present, and is null when Crunchbase does not show it.
Why are founding dates and funding amounts empty?
Crunchbase shows some values only to paying users: founding, closing and IPO dates, funding totals, round dates and amounts, acquisition prices, exit counts and valuations. The plugin reads what a signed-out visitor sees, so these come back null rather than guessed, and paywalledFields names the ones Crunchbase holds for that organization. Counts such as numFundingRounds and numInvestors, round types, investor names and lead investors are public and come back filled. Lists such as fundingRounds, keyPeople or news hold the entries the public profile shows, usually the most recent ones, while the num* counts give the totals.
Do I need a Crunchbase account or API key?
No. The plugin needs no Crunchbase account, login or API key: send a slug or profile URL with your ScrapeUnblocker key and get the organization back as JSON. Only have a company name? Pass query, such as Revolut, and get up to 25 matching organizations with their slugs from the same search Crunchbase's own search box uses, then call again with the slug you want.
How much does it cost to scrape Crunchbase?
Each call is one request: one organization profile, or one name search with up to 25 matches. 1 request = 1 credit, EUR 1.00 per 1,000 on pay as you go, down to about EUR 0.55 per 1,000 on the Ultimate plan. Blocks and timeouts are not billed, and the free trial includes 500 requests with no card.
