ScrapeUnblocker vs Zyte
Zyte is the company behind Scrapy, with Scrapy Cloud for hosting spiders and Zyte API for unblocking. We know it from experience: we ran our own production spiders on Zyte Scrapy Cloud before moving them to our own spider cloud in 2026. ScrapeUnblocker is a framework-agnostic scraping API: you call one HTTP endpoint from Scrapy, a script or an SDK and get back the rendered page as HTML or JSON.
Zyte API prices each website in one of five tiers. According to its pricing page, pay-as-you-go rates run from $0.13 to $1.27 per 1,000 requests for HTTP responses and from $1.01 to $16.08 per 1,000 for browser-rendered ones, depending on the tier. ScrapeUnblocker charges one price for every site: €1.00 per 1,000 requests on pay as you go, down to about €0.55 per 1,000 on the Ultimate plan, with browser rendering included. Which is cheaper depends on the tiers your sites fall into.
Neither bills a failed request: Zyte states that rate-limiting and unsuccessful responses are free, and ScrapeUnblocker does not bill blocks, timeouts or errors on its side. If your pipeline is built on Scrapy and you want managed hosting and scheduling around it, Zyte covers that as a platform. ScrapeUnblocker is one endpoint you add to the stack you already run, with 500 free requests to test it.

When ScrapeUnblocker may fit better
- You are not on Scrapy and do not want to adopt a platform.
- Your sites fall into Zyte's higher tiers and you want one flat price.
- You want parsed JSON for popular sites from plugin endpoints.
- You want to call one endpoint from any language or tool.
When they may fit better
- Your whole pipeline is Scrapy and you want managed hosting and scheduling for it.
- Your sites fall into Zyte's lower tiers, especially without browser rendering.
